Why Ballot Access?

The Forward Party of Texas is on the verge of a breakthrough. To fully empower voters with real choices, we must achieve one critical milestone: Ballot Access for the 2026 election.

Ballot access determines who appears on your election ballot. In Texas, the system favors established parties and makes it hard for new movements to compete. Minor and emerging parties must gather nearly 83,000 signatures from voters who skipped the primaries, all within a tight 75-day window. These rules are not about voter protection. They are about limiting your choices.

Research proves that when voters are given more options, real change happens. Studies show that third parties who earn ballot access grow stronger with each election, gaining momentum and building sustainable alternatives. The Libertarian Party’s ongoing success in Texas shows what is possible once these barriers are overcome. Texans have always valued freedom, independence, and innovation. Yet when it comes to politics, we are often forced to choose between two parties that no longer represent the full diversity of our state. According to Gallup, 62 percent of Americans believe a third party is needed. The demand is there. It is the system that needs fixing.

Achieving ballot access is more than a procedural victory. It is a powerful step toward giving every Texan a voice. It means voters can support candidates who truly reflect their values and hopes for the future, without being forced into old, narrow choices. Texas is growing, evolving, and ready for a political system that matches its spirit. Ballot access is the gateway to that future. By breaking down these barriers, we open the door to new ideas, fresh leadership, and a democracy that works for everyone.
