Join the Texas Forward Party and friends for an exclusive Austin community screening of the non-partisan documentary People vs. Politics!
This event offers an engaging, values-based space to explore the future of electoral reform, voter choice, and pragmatic governance. The film follows grassroots leaders across the country working to break down hyper-partisan system barriers—such as closed primaries and non-competitive districts—by championing open primaries and ranked-choice voting. Featuring commentary from figures across the political spectrum including Andrew Yang, former RNC Chair Michael Steele, former U.S. Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO), and former U.S. Rep. Mary Peltola (D-AK), People vs. Politics captures the momentum behind building a healthier democratic process from the ground up.
Following the screening, we will host a live panel discussion featuring community leaders, independent candidates, local Austin candidates, and voting reform advocates to discuss practical ways to restore competition, protect election integrity, and elevate voter choice right here in Texas.
Afterward, stick around for our post-screening courtyard social next door on Tweedy's patio, where sponsors, partner organizations, and candidates can set up shop to continue celebrating democracy reform, connecting with voters, and building momentum together!
